Hey there! Finally after all the talks and whispers, the time has finally come for us to announce a new series of events that we – along with our friends at HAI and CIO East Africa – have been organizing for a while now. On the 31st of August, we’ll be having the first of our SME troubleshooting breakfast meetings. The purpose of said meetings? To bring together SMEs from around Nairobi and put them in the same room as industry leaders, where an informal panel discussion will be presented. The events will be conducive to conversation, to connecting, to sharing, to focusing on how your company can grow!
Our main guest speaker for the first session will be Danson Muchemi, CEO of Jambopay, a company which provides electronic payments services to thousands of businesses and government organizations throughout East Africa. His being named as CNBC Africa’s Young Entrepreneur of the year 2014-2015 leaves no room to doubt that he is a man to keep an eye on as he achieves great things. He’ll be talking to us about “connectivity as a business enabler”, with special guest Bobby Yawe as the MC and moderator. Bobby Yawe is the managing director of KAY System Technologies Limited, an ICT company involved in the design and implementation of LAN and WAN systems, there’s no shortage of inventiveness here!
If you haven’t already been acquainted with our partners in this venture, here’s what you’ll need to know:
Hai, newly launched in Kenya through its parent company – Liquid Telecom – offers superfast internet and inter-office connectivity and leading edge solutions to a wide range of customers in the Home, Business and Enterprise markets. CIO magazine – first launched in the United States in 1987 – was one of the first magazines out there built to deliver tech-focused news, with features and commentary on emerging technologies and products, industry trends and research, and innovation in the tech industry. They’ve been around for a while, hence their East-African branch has some great insights on what’s-what and what should be what in the African tech world!
Try not to miss out on your chance to network and bounce ideas off other amazing and innovative people. If you’d like your company to be invited to this event, just fill out this form, and we’ll get back to you asap on whether or not your application was successful. After the end of the first meeting, we look to hold these events every quarter with the themes or topics being chosen by the audience, so that each event will be relevant to the SMEs we wish to attend.
Good luck!
